Sean is CEO of AXA XL Insurance Company UK Limited and AXA XL Underwriting Agencies Ltd and responsible for running the UK & Lloyd’s business of AXAXL, part of the AXA Group. He is a Director of AXA XL Syndicate Limited. Sean is also Chair and a member of the Board of the Lloyd’s Market Group and Director and Board member of the Lloyd’s Market Association.
In 2016 Sean joined XL Catlin as Global Head of Regulatory & Government Affairs and Chief Compliance Officer. Following AXA’s acquisition of XL Catlin, Sean became Global General Counsel of AXA XL. In 2020 Sean stepped into his current role.
Prior to working at AXA XL, Sean worked at the Lloyd’s of London Corporation for 20 years where he held leadership positions including Chief Risk Officer & General Counsel.
Sean was previously a member of the Lloyd’s of London Franchise Board from 2014-2016.
